Raspberry Pi has added a third size to its official touchscreen lineup. The new 10-inch Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 is available now for $80 through the company’s worldwide network of approved resellers, joining the 7-inch model that launched in 2024 and the smaller 5-inch variant that followed.
The original Touch Display was one of the most popular Raspberry Pi accessories, and the Touch Display 2 line rebuilt it to be thinner and sharper. The 7-inch version came first as a redesign of that original panel, then the 5-inch model arrived for tighter builds. The 10-inch display rounds out the range for projects that want a bigger, easier-to-read screen without switching to a generic third-party monitor and dealing with mismatched drivers.
What’s in the box
The 10-inch Touch Display 2 runs at 1200×1920 resolution with an 85-degree viewing angle, and its capacitive touchscreen tracks up to 10 simultaneous touch points. That’s double the 5 touch points on the 7-inch and 5-inch models, which matters if you’re building anything with multi-finger gestures, kiosk-style navigation, or a shared surface where more than one hand might land on the glass at once.
Power comes directly from the host Raspberry Pi, so there’s no separate power brick to manage. The display ships with the cables, connectors, and mounting hardware needed to attach it, and Raspberry Pi OS includes full driver support out of the box. No manual calibration step: connect it, boot up, and both the display and touch input just work.
Compatibility is the catch
The higher resolution comes with a real limitation. Driving 1200×1920 pixels needs 4 DSI data lanes, compared to the 2 lanes used on the earlier Touch Display 2 models. That means a different ribbon cable, thinner but higher-bandwidth, paired with a newer display connector.
In practice, this limits the 10-inch display to boards that support 4-lane DSI: Raspberry Pi 5 and Compute Modules, paired with an IO Board or another carrier board built for it. It does not work with Raspberry Pi 4 or earlier boards, and it doesn’t work with any Raspberry Pi Zero model either. If you’re planning a build around this display, check which board you have before ordering; the older 5-inch and 7-inch Touch Display 2 units are still the options for Pi 4-class hardware and Zero boards.
Where it fits in a homelab
Raspberry Pi suggests the 10-inch display for home automation dashboards, kiosk interfaces, robotics control panels, digital signage, gaming setups, and workshop or lab control panels. Those are already common Raspberry Pi 5 projects, and a larger integrated touchscreen removes one of the more annoying parts of building them: hunting down a compatible panel, power supply, and mounting bracket separately.
For anyone running a Raspberry Pi 5 as a dedicated dashboard, whether that’s a Home Assistant wall panel, a Pi-hole and network status display, or a control surface for a 3D printer or lab bench, the 10-inch Touch Display 2 is now an official, plug-and-play option at a fixed $80, rather than piecing together third-party parts and hoping the drivers cooperate.
